Results From Cocaine Abuse Study Could Lead To Better Treatment

Miami, FL (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- According to the ScienceDaily (8/1) article, New Insight Into How Brain 'Learns' Cocaine Addiction, a new study conducted by Johns Hopkins reveal that a protein which is linked to learning in the brain can also be responsible for becoming addiction to cocaine.

Abuse of cocaine is treated at certified detox centers with a step-by-step process that allows the cocaine dependent individual to slowly wean off from the addictive drug. Harbor Village, located in South Florida, features a trained medical staff that will design a personalized plan of recovery for drug dependent clients. In an upscale, 24/7 state-of-the art environment, clients receive private drug rehab and luxury accommodations including a beautifully furnished suite with satellite television, over an acre of scenic outdoor lounge area, spa, salon, massage and acupuncture services, nutritious, gourmet dining and the individualized care by the attentive staff.

As reported by ScienceDaily article, New Insight Into How Brain 'Learns' Cocaine Addiction, this study was published in the journal Cell, and may allow scientists and medical practitioners develop new methods for treating this problem.

"The broad question was why and how cocaine strengthened certain circuits in the brain long term, effectively re-wiring the brain for addiction," says Paul Worley, M.D., a professor in the Solomon H. Snyder Department of Neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. "What we found in this study was how two very different types of systems in the brain work together to make that happen." Cocaine addiction, experts say, is among the strongest of addictions.

“Harbor Village provides results proven care for anyone suffering from an addiction to cocaine or other drugs. Your road to recovery begins here,” said Robert Niznik, Harbor Village CEO.
