PediaVision Assessment Solution to Be Demonstrated at 31st Annual Common Problems in Pediatrics Conference June 1-3 in Salt Lake City

6/1/2009 10:50:20 AM

LAKE MARY, FL--(Marketwire - June 01, 2009) -

PediaVision, a company dedicated to solving the critical problem of undiagnosed vision problems affecting thousands of children and to helping Pediatricians provide thorough vision screening, today announced it will demonstrate its state-of-the-art PediaVision Assessment Solution (PAS) at the 31st Annual Common Problems in Pediatrics Conference June 1-3 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The PAS is a revolutionary vision screening solution that assists Pediatricians in the detection of refractive errors, amblyopia, strabismus, anisocoria, and media opacities.

With the overall goal of promoting the well-being of all children, the Common Problems in Pediatrics Conference is hosted by the Intermountain Pediatric Society and American Academy of Pediatrics Utah Chapter to bring together experts in the field of pediatrics. The Conference focuses on all aspects of pediatric medicine, including pediatric gynecology, pediatric gastroenterology, ophthalmology and emergency medicine.

"The only binocular vision screening device that produces highly accurate, immediate results, our PediaVision Assessment Solution (PAS) is effective for screening children of any age, especially pre-verbal children," said PediaVision's CEO David Melnik.

"Parents look to their Pediatrician for early health assessments and trust their physician to thoroughly evaluate and identify any problems from birth," Melnik said. "Pediatricians now have the tool they need for highly accurate, early vision assessment."

The PAS produces a recommendation as to whether or not a subject should be referred to an eye care specialist.

"From the Pediatric Ophthalmologist's standpoint it's very important to note that approximately two out of every three patients referred will have pathology that requires treatment," Pediatric Ophthalmologist Dr. Michael Abrams said. "Devices like the PediaVision Assessment Solution help Pediatricians identify possible vision problems, and we highly recommend that Pediatricians use a screening device like this," he added.
