Millennium Dental Technologies, Inc. Adds 2nd Live LANAP Surgery at Yankee Dental Congress Due to Popular Demand

1/3/2013 8:54:03 AM

CERRITOS, CA--(Marketwire - January 02, 2013) - Millennium Dental Technologies (MDT), the developer of the FDA-cleared LANAP® protocol for the treatment of moderate to severe periodontitis and the manufacturer of the PerioLase® MVP-7™ digital dental laser, will sponsor two live demonstrations of the LANAP protocol on a patient. Charles R. Braga, DMD, MMSc, LANAP clinician and instructor at the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry, will perform the surgeries at the 2013 Yankee Dental Congress in Boston. LANAP® clinician Marc Nevins, DMD, MMSc, whose human histologic study for the LANAP protocol was published in the 2012 IJPRD - Issue 5, is also scheduled to speak at the meeting. More than 27,000 dental professionals are expected to attend this year's Yankee Dental Congress, held at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, including a strong alumni attendance from area dental schools including Harvard University, Boston University, Tufts University, and the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Braga will perform live LANAP surgery on Thursday and Friday during the conference. Friday, February 1 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. is already sold-out (course #548RL). The newly added 2nd live LANAP session will take place on Thursday, January 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (course #260TL). Dr. Nevins' corporate forum presentation, "Laser-Assisted Periodontal Treatment," will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31 (course #230TL). All three courses are available at no cost; however, space is limited, so register today. Attendees will earn 2 CE credits per event.

The LANAP protocol utilizes the PerioLase MVP-7, a patient-friendly, tissue-sparing, laser periodontitis surgery, resulting in scientifically proven regenerative outcomes. Patients experience far less post-operative pain, require fewer treatment sessions and enjoy quicker recovery times and lasting results. To learn more, visit www.lanap.com. ABOUT MILLENNIUM DENTAL TECHNOLOGIES, INC. Headquartered in Cerritos, Calif., Millennium Dental Technologies, Inc. is the developer of the LANAP® protocol for the treatment of gum disease and the manufacturer of the PerioLase® MVP-7™ digital dental laser. By providing a less destructive and more tissue-sparing experience with unique bone-building clinical results, MDT's FDA-cleared LANAP protocol removes the fear from gum disease treatment, offering a vastly less painful and less invasive regenerative treatment alternative to conventional scalpel/suture flap surgery. The PerioLase® MVP-7™ is a 6-watt free-running variable pulsed Nd:YAG dental laser featuring digital technology and 7 pulse durations -- the most available on the market -- giving it the power and versatility to perform a wide range of soft- and hard-tissue laser procedures and the only laser properly configured to support the LANAP protocol for all periodontal case types. Established in 1990, the company's founding clinicians, Robert H. Gregg, II, DDS, and Delwin K. McCarthy, DDS, continue to operate the company with a shared vision and purpose: To create better clinical outcomes in patients with periodontal disease -- and to remain true to the guiding principle -- "It's all about the patient."
