Global Diagnostics Firm DiaSorin S.p.A. Selects Pilgrim Software's On-Demand Quality Management Platform

1/3/2011 10:59:43 AM

Tampa, FL – December 23, 2010 -- Pilgrim Software, Inc., a world-leading provider of Enterprise Risk, Compliance and Quality Management (ERCQM) software solutions, today announced that DiaSorin S.p.A., an international player in the market for in vitro diagnostics, has selected Pilgrim’s On-Demand (Software as a Service) software suite as its global Quality Management solution.

Pilgrim’s SmartSolve® system will be implemented to provide DiaSorin’s global operations with fully integrated and automated processes around: Nonconformance, Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA), Customer Complaints, Audit, Training, Calibration and Supplier Management. Additionally, the company will leverage Pilgrim’s SmartInsight™ Reporting system for improved, enterprise-wide tracking, visibility, and control of its global quality operations data and metrics. Currently, the DiaSorin Group is comprised of 23 companies based in Europe, North, Central and South America, Africa and Asia. The various locations have been operating with home-built quality systems or paper-based systems. DiaSorin will implement these solutions to fulfill its vision for a fully automated, integrated, and unified quality system across the organization the enterprise.

“We were seeking an enterprise-class system that will be flexible, provide out-of-the-box best practices, require minimal configuration and maintenance from us, and most importantly be easy for our users to adopt,” said Ferdinando Peretto, Chief Information Officer for DiaSorin. “We believe Pilgrim’s SmartSolve software will help us unify our quality processes across our entire enterprise, and in the process, improve efficiency and effectiveness of our team, and support growth as we expand our global reach.”

The key automated systems are hosted on Pilgrim’s SAS 70-certified on-demand platform. Implementing these automated processes through Pilgrim’s On-Demand platform provides DiaSorin with a distinct competitive advantage. Compared to traditional software implementation models, Pilgrim’s On-Demand involves a lower total cost of ownership, reduced overhead, a high degree of scalability, increased accessibility, improved collaborative productivity, easier implementation, and improved security with optimal performance.

“We expect that Pilgrim’s On-Demand capability will eliminate the traditional IT and Validation burdens, thus helping us minimize the implementation effort and achieve an accelerated Go-Live,” Peretto said.

“World class companies are increasingly adopting an On-Demand strategy, which allows customers to spend more time streamlining their operations rather than focusing on technology infrastructure,” said Prashanth Rajendran, Pilgrim’s Chief Operating Officer. “DiaSorin is well poised to realize these benefits quickly, particularly when the unparalleled support that Pilgrim Software provides, enables them to get the most out of their investment in our ERCQM solutions.”
