10/17/2011 10:53:46 AM

Monday 17th October 2011 -- Alan Pilgrim has taken over as Chairman of Synexus from Professor Trevor Jones, CBE, who continues on the board as a director and becomes President of the Synexus’ Scientific Advisory Board. Synexus, based in Manchester, is the largest multinational organisation dedicated to the recruitment of patients and running of clinical trials at its own Dedicated Research Centres.

Alan Pilgrim, who has had extensive experience in the healthcare services area, recently retired as Group Chief Executive Officer of Europe’s largest diagnostic imaging services company Alliance Medical. Prior to this he turned around the healthcare staffing business Match Group and was Chief Executive Officer of Community Hospitals Group and Group Managing Director of BNA – now known as Nestor. He is a Chartered Accountant by training.

Professor Trevor Jones, CBE, has been Chairman of Synexus since Lyceum Capital took the company private in 2007. Since that time the company has more than doubled its turnover and increased the number of research centres to 26 across nine countries. Trevor is now focussing his attention on the further development and running of the Synexus Scientific Advisory Boards which are composed of world leading specialists in the therapeutic areas where the Synexus model is particularly appropriate.
