TUSTIN, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 2004--Integrium, a contract research organization (CRO), announced the appointment of Ines Altemose as senior director, clinical operations. This significant addition was made in tandem with the opening of a New Jersey operations office - where Altemose is based.

Altemose is responsible for overseeing clinical operations activities at Integrium, including the integration of the Bedminster, N.J. office into the company's operations. In this role, she will direct clinical operations and monitoring services and will be involved in the implementation of strategies for continued development of these core activities. She will also be responsible for ensuring that Integrium's clinical operations are in compliance with regulatory and GCP requirements.

Altemose will report to David Smith, M.D., president & CEO of Integrium. "We are delighted to welcome Ines to the Integrium team," said Dr. Smith. "Her extensive operational experience and proven leadership track record are a tremendous asset to Integrium and to our clients."

Altemose provides over 17 years of experience in clinical research, including significant managerial experience in executing clinical trial projects. She was most recently the senior director of clinical operations for a CRO - managing a staff of over 130 clinical research professionals and serving on the company's senior management team. Altemose previously worked for the Schering-Plough Research Institute for six years as a project and group leader in the cardiovascular and oncology areas, with additional responsibility for in-house training for research personnel worldwide. She also has experience as a field clinical scientist for Parke-Davis/Warner Lambert. She has the distinction of establishing and maintaining the first thrombolysis registry in the United States, with the participation of over 50 hospitals nationwide and has served as a primary reviewer for the National Institutes of Health.

"I look forward to not only maintaining Integrium's already high standards of excellence, but to ensuring that Integrium's clinical operations continue to progress ahead of the industry and in response to our client needs," Altemose said.

Altemose earned a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology from the University of Rochester Medical Center and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Colby College.
