DescriptionThe WIN 2017 Symposium program will elaborate the theme ‘Expediting Global Innovation in Precision Cancer Medicine’ in six plenary sessions, divided over two days of meetings. The program will be supplemented by poster viewing sessions, not overlapping with the plenary sessions, and a plenary poster awarding ceremony.

The event will open with the Welcome Address by John Mendelsohn, Chair of WIN Consortium and Past President of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, who will showcase a series of WIN disruptive programs aiming to significantly improve lung cancer patients’ outcomes.

Offering a broad perspective on the existing data in genomic-driven clinical studies in breast cancer, José Baselga, from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, will follow up with his Keynote Opening Lecture.

The Closing Keynote Lecture and remarks will be presented by Leroy Hood from Institute for Systems Biology.

This year’s scientific program promises an outstanding line-up of oncology experts and will focus upon the following themes:

• Innovation in clinical trial design – with Razelle Kurzrock (UCSD), Laura Esserman (UCSF), Donald A. Berry and J Jack Lee (UT-MD Anderson)

• New avenues for target discovery - with Geneviève Almouzni (Institut Curie) and Giorgio Massimini (Merck KGaA)

• Immunological approach to personalized medicine – with Antoni Ribas (UCLA), Guido Kroemer (Gustave Roussy), Hans-Georg Rammensee (University of Tübingen) and Steve Anderson (Covance)

• Next great steps in cancer therapy – with Olli Kallioniemi
