DescriptionAim: To exchange expertise in both the experiment and bioinformatic analysis of ribosome profiling

Ribosome profiling is still a relatively new technique, many people are trying to perform these types of experiments but so far there are only a small number of groups that have successfully published results using it. Therefore there are currently no standard analysis pipelines in the field. PhD students and postdocs spend a great deal of time trouble shooting both the experiments and analysis. This workshop will be beneficial to them and the translation field as an opportunity to share and discuss different approaches and problems. The workshop will provide an excellent training platform at all levels; student, postdoc, PI. The networking will help generate collaborations and opportunities for knowledge exchange.

The one day event will be a combination of training and round-table discussions. Many scientists are trying to use these methods and a discussion of what experts in the field are doing and alternative experimental and bioinformatic pipelines will allow scientists to learn about the tools available and share experiences of data analysis. This will be ideal for those just starting to plan ribosome profiling experiments and those in the middle of doing/analysing them.
