| Description | Mahindra Satyam presents the first in a series of Webinars showcasing best practices in pharmaceutical IT. In this segment, "Big Data" concepts are explored and applied to pharmaceutical R&D. The challenges of using very large aggregated data pools to drive better drug development outcomes, and to in turn use these outcomes to make better and more efficacious drugs, are described. In the face of dwindling pipelines, rising pricing pressures, and increasing regulatory oversight, the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry has started to focus on process improvement and efficiency. Realizing that data integration and management is central to this aim, the industry is accessing and integrating a greater number of data sources, of increasing sizes and complexities, into their R&D processes. |
