Zymo Research To Present Novel RNA Isolation Protocol

BOSTON, June 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Zymo Research Corp. will present a poster titled "Non-biased miRNA Purification from Clinical and Environmental Samples" during the ASM Microbe 2016 conference. The poster (LB-009) will be presented on Friday, June 17, 2016 by Stanislav Forman from 12:30 pm 2:30 pm. in the exhibit hall at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

The premise of the data to be presented is that organic extraction methods have been shown to introduce significant bias, specifically into small RNA (miRNA) recovery. Zymo Research will present a non-biased method that they have developed that allows for isolating RNA, including miRNAs, directly, i.e., without phase separation or precipitation. They compared the miRNA profiles obtained through next generation sequencing as well as a hybridization approach with an existing non-biased "double extraction" protocol. The data confirmed the non-biased purification results.
