ZONARE Medical Systems, Inc. Appoints Stephen Edwards Vice President Of U.S. Sales

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ZONARE, the pioneer and developer of next generation ultrasound technology, announced the appointment of Stephen Edwards as vice president of U.S. sales for the company. Edwards brings more than 25 years of successful medical sales and executive experience to ZONARE. He will join the company's senior management team of industry veterans and is responsible for providing U.S. clinicians with ZONARE's award winning Zone Sonography Technology (ZST).

"With our mission of providing superb image quality and clinical value, Steve's appointment brings even further depth to our management team," said Timothy Marcotte, president and CEO for ZONARE. Prior to ZONARE, Edwards held sales management positions at Siemens Medical Solutions, Acuson and Toshiba America Medical Systems. His most recent position was National Sales Manager for GE Healthcare, General Imaging Ultrasound, where his team helped increase market share to 48 percent of the US ultrasound market. Edwards holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oregon State University.

Also joining the management team is Larry McCabe, whom ZONARE recently added as the director of Product Definition. McCabe has an extensive background in ultrasound and clinical engineering. His more than 20 years of experience includes senior positions at Siemens, Acuson, Hansen Medical and Allocade.

McCabe earned a bachelor of arts in biophysics from the University of California Berkley and a master of science in medical engineering through a joint program of UC Berkley and UC San Francisco.
