SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - October 04, 2012) -
Zenmark announced today their role in the development of the brand name REVESTIVE (teduglutide), a new therapy for Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS). "Pharmaceutical naming is often fraught with peril & frustration due to global health authority constraints. Gaining approval for such a powerfully aspirational name such as Revestive is what makes this job truly special," said Greg Balla, President & Creative Director of Zenmark. "As a U.S.-based agency, we're particularly proud of global and ex-U.S. marks that resonate in markets worldwide," Balla added.
REVESTIVE has been granted an orphan drug designation by the FDA and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and received a positive CHMP opinion by the EMA on June 22, 2012. The marketing authorisation application was submitted in March 2011. Takeda has partnered with NPS Pharmaceuticals on the new product and holds the distribution rights for teduglutide in Europe where the medicinal product will be known as REVESTIVE.
