WuXi PharmaTech Co., Ltd. Files For $250 Million China-US Venture Fund

WuXi PharmaTech has filed paperwork for a $250 million life sciences venture fund, a fund that will be known as WuXi Healthcare Ventures Fund II. In March 2015, WuXi decided it would commit up to $50 million to start a China-US pharma healthcare fund and raise an additional $200 million from other investors. In 2011, WuXi started its original Venture Fund with $50 million. By the end of 2014, it had invested $36.1 million in 18 life science companies and recognized gains of $16.6 million on exits.
