Women Building Success In Biosciences: MichBio’s Inaugural Women-Focused Event

ANN ARBOR, Mich.--()--MichBio is pleased to announce its first event focused on the role and careers of women in the varied field of biosciences. The half-day “Women Building Success in Biosciences” event will take place in Ann Arbor and include three panel discussion sessions and a keynote presentation by Medtronic, Inc.’s Senior Vice President for Global Quality Luann Pendy, PhD.

Attendees with a background or interest in the bioscience industry and at all points in their career—from students to senior-level—will find value in this event. The speakers will share personal and work-related success to lend inspiration to all career paths. The goal is to engender meaningful interactions, spark friendships, business relationships, and career opportunities.

Panel discussion topics include:

  • Positioning yourself in today’s marketplace
  • My life as a women entrepreneur
  • Lessons in leadership

In her role at Medtronic, Pendy oversees all global quality operations for the company. She is a member of Medtronic’s executive management team and serves as the executive sponsor for the Medtronic Women’s Network Minnesota Hub. She joined Medtronic in 2008 as the vice president of corporate quality. Pendy received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan and her Doctorate of Philosophy in Immunology from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois.

Pendy will also participate in MichBio's CEO Leaders' Club breakfast on June 10.

“Women Building Success in Biosciences” will be held at the Kensington Court Ann Arbor beginning at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow.
