February 8, 2014 --Sagent Pharma, a US maker of injectable products, opened a National Research Center in Chengdu's Bio-Technology Park; Aslan Pharma of Singapore established an office in Taipei to run clinical trials in Taiwan; GlaxoSmithKline reported its Q4 China revenues were only 18% lower, a big improvement over the 61% drop in Q3; Cachet Pharma of China signed a Term Sheet to distribute a diabetes diagnostic device made by Canada’s Miraculins; Abiomed received China approval for two versions of its minimally invasive heart pump; and The Lancet published a description of a new and potentially dangerous strain of avian flu in China.
