December 8, 2012 -- Grupo Insud of Argentina will spend $55 million to build an animal health manufacturing plant in China; Guangzhou Pharma Co. will acquire the assets of Guangzhou Baiyunshan Pharma; Roche opened a sales headquarters in Chengdu to build its Western China revenues; Essex Woodlands, a US growth capital firm, announced a new office in Shanghai to invest in China healthcare companies; Covance’s Shanghai lab was granted a GLP Certificate by the SFDA; Neusoft Medical Systems, a China medical imaging company, received approval for US sales of its NeuViz 64 multi-slice CT scanner; and Edwards Lifesciences (NYSE: EW) was given SFDA approval for its bovine-based replacement heart valve.
