Vidacare Corporation Positions Mark Mellin To CEO And Mike Voss To The Newly-Created Position Of Chief Operating Officer
As Acting CEO, Mellin, a biotechnology industry veteran, will manage the strategic initiatives to launch this next phase of growth and positioning. As COO, Voss will supervise all Vidacare product lines, including the EZ-IO System and the OnControl Bone Marrow and Bone Access Systems, and will work with the existing business unit teams to expand sales globally.
Faris will offer expertise on areas of specific need including international business and operational initiatives to increase product adoption. In his leadership role over the last five years, he has successfully positioned Vidacare as the leader in the field of intraosseous medicine, overseeing the company’s growth and leading the company through the commercialization and launch of three product systems.

Mellin, who will continue to serve as the company’s CFO, brings a wealth of experience to the Vidacare executive team as a veteran in the biotechnology industry possessing deep expertise in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, SEC rules and regulations and public company financial reporting. A San Antonio native for over 40 years, he currently serves as the Audit Committee Chairman of the board of directors for Rackspace Hosting, Inc. Previously, Mellin was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Ilex Oncology and managed the financial aspects of the sale of the San Antonio-based company to Genzyme Corporation for $1 billion. Prior to that, he was the managing partner of the San Antonio office of Arthur Andersen LLP. He holds a BBA in Accounting from The University of Texas and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1984.
Voss’ 20 years of executive management experience includes most recently serving as Vice President and General Manager of the Vascular Interventions Division at Spectranetics Corporation. During his tenure there, he significantly increased sales and launched two new vascular products. He has also held managerial, marketing and sales positions with Bard Access Systems, Cordis Cardiology (a Johnson & Johnson company) and Boston Scientific. Mike holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and is a graduate of Georgia Southern University. Prior to entering the medical device industry, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army.
