Mannheim, Germany – velixx GmbH has now joined forces with the renowned experts at HSG-IMIT’s Lab-on-a-Chip Design & Foundry Service for implementation of assays into Lab Discs. This collaboration aims to advance commercialization of Lab-on-a-Chip technology, offering excellent opportunities to clients for custom-designing and manufacturing of complex laboratory assays into easy-to-use, compact “Lab-on-a-Chip” formats.

Lab-on-a-Chip, also called “Lab Disc”, involves precision micro structuring of a plastic foil or disc to integrate single or multiple laboratory assays and scale them down onto a compact disc. The goal of this collaboration is to offer rapid and cost-effective development of innovative Lab-on-a-Chip systems on a commercial-scale.

The team comprises of highly qualified engineers, researchers, technicians and business experts. This allows for a huge number of opportunities for effectively realizing a given assay into a well-designed, compact and fully-automated Lab Disc. The services include feasibility studies, consulting, design, prototyping, manufacturing, quality certification and market launch support.
