7/18/2011 3:00:05 PM

July 18, 2011 Frederick, MD VARNISS, LLC commercializes KillerRed Photosensitizer Protein the first and only protein photo-dynamic agent available in the industry. Upon green-light irradiation, KillerRed generates ROS that damage the neighboring molecules, and can be used for photo-dynamic therapy. KillerRed Photosensitizer Protein can be used in targeted delivery of liposomes, loaded with KillerRed Photosensitizer Protein, to tumors or primary cells, followed by local illumination with green light. KillerRed shows no cell toxic effects before light activation, and can be used as a safer alternative of such toxins as Cholera toxin and Pseudomonas exotoxin A.
