US Pharmacopeia Opens Facility in Shanghai

Sep 8, 2007 -- US Pharmacopeia, the not-for-profit organization that promotes public health, cut the ribbon today on its new facility in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park in Shanghai. Last week, Tongjitang Chinese Medicines said it will buy Guizhou Long-Life Pharmaceutical; WuXi PharmaTech reported sharply higher revenues and earnings for Q2; AstraZeneca will open a clinical pharmacology unit in partnership with Peking University 3rd Hospital; Royal DSM started construction of a new campus in the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park in Shanghai; four Shanghai CROs are planning their IPOs; and finally, the OEDC offered suggestions of how China can achieve its goal of instituting an innovation-based economic system.
