Unipharma to Add 44 Jobs in New York

A New York City-based pharmaceutical company will open a division in Waterbury this summer, bringing 44 jobs to the city in the next two years and the possibility of additional jobs down the line, city officials said Monday. Unipharm Inc., a private company that manufactures and markets over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, supplements and nutritional products, has signed a five-year agreement with a five-year option to lease 47,000-square-feet of space in a 54,000-square-foot building at 75 Progress Lane in the Captain Neville Industrial Park, according to Ronald J. Pugliese, the city's economic development director, and Tom Gentile, the business development manager of the Waterbury Development Corp.'s business growth group.
