MESA, AZ--(Marketwired - December 09, 2013) -

Ulthera, Inc. -- A global, high-growth medical device and specialty dermatology company with multiple aesthetic and medical applications -- today announced that it is now registered in Taiwan to market and distribute its patented medical device, the Ulthera® System. The System -- which combines established ultrasound imaging with focused ultrasound therapy in a treatment known as Ultherapy® -- is cleared in Taiwan as a non-invasive therapy used for eyebrow lift.

In partnership with its Taiwan distributor, Dynamic Medical Technologies, Ulthera looks to establish a solid footprint in the country to help meet the physician and patient demand for the procedure.

"Taiwan is a growing aesthetics market that has been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the non-invasive Ultherapy lifting procedure," said Matthew Likens, president and CEO of Ulthera. "We hope the initial influx of Systems in this country is just the beginning, and demand will continue at an accelerated rate, reflecting a growth pattern similar to its neighbor to the north, South Korea, where hundreds of Ulthera Systems are in place."

Likens continued, "Physicians around the world have taken notice of Ulthera's consistent treatment efficacy as well as ongoing commitment to R&D and clinical advancements. They now view Ulthera's System as an essential element of a successful aesthetics practice thanks to its significant results along with the Company's determination to add more value to the platform during each year of physician ownership."

More than 2,000 Ulthera Systems have been sold around the world and more than 250,000 Ultherapy treatments have been performed using it.
