Two Key Genetic Variants Tied To Increased Risk Of Stroke, Boston University School of Medicine Study

MedPage Today -- TORONTO, April 15 -- International researchers have found a previously unsuspected link between stroke and two genetic variants on chromosome 12. In a large genome-wide association study, having a single copy of either variant increased the risk of all types of stroke by about 30%, according to Sudha Seshadri, M.D., of Boston University School of Medicine, and colleagues.
