Two Doses of Varicella Vaccine Effective, Yale University Study Finds

MedPageToday -- The recommended two doses of varicella vaccine are highly effective at preventing infection, a case-control study showed. The effectiveness of the two-dose schedule of the varicella vaccine, adopted by the CDC in 2006, was 98.3% (P<0.001), Eugene Shapiro, MD, of Yale University, and colleagues reported in the Feb. 1 issue of the Journal of Infectious Diseases.
