Leading up to Taste Addison, Transitions Optical, in conjunction with the Town of Addison, identified the Top 25 Sights to See in Dallas and encouraged Dallas-area residents and tourists to vote on which of those made up the Top 10.

After receiving more than 1,000 votes, the Top 10 Sights to See in Dallas are Mary Kay Museum, Dallas World Aquarium, JFK Memorial, Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, Cowboys Stadium, Sixth Floor Museum, Dallas Arts District, Texas Motor Speedway, Galleria Dallas, and Cavanaugh Flight Museum.

Transitions Optical's on-site experience will invite event attendees to celebrate sight by offering the opportunity to have their photos taken at a kiosk against the scenic, Dallas-themed background of their choice; the chance to win prizes including the Ultimate Sightseeing Dream Vacation to the Galapagos Islands; giveaways with healthy vision and sightseeing tips, and much more.

National travel expert/bestselling author and "Official Sightseer" Marybeth Bond who is also known as "The Gutsy Traveler" and has been to more than 90 countries will be visiting the Top 10 Sights to See, sharing how healthy vision has impacted her own travels.

"Having damaged my eyesight when I traveled around the world at age 29 without wearing proper UV-protective eyewear, I know first-hand how important it is to take care of your eyes, so you can truly experience all the sights when you are on the road and in your everyday life," said Marybeth Bond.

Dr. Brian Chou, optometrist at EyeLux Optometry in San Diego, California, offers tips to maintain eye health so you can see your best throughout the year, especially while traveling.

"Getting comprehensive eye exams regularly, maintaining a nutritious diet, rich in vitamins A,C, E and carotenoids, staying hydrated, and wearing eyewear that enhances your vision and blocks 100 percent of harmful UV rays, such as Transitions® adaptive lenses, can help you enjoy the sights in your life now and in the future," said Dr. Chou.

Joining Transitions Optical in this effort are Essilor and First Eye Care, the latter of which will be on-site at Taste Addison, providing complimentary vision screenings to children and adult attendees as well as distributing coupon offers redeemable at select local First Eye Care locations.

"Participating in Taste Addison is a great opportunity for us to bring this experience to Dallas," said Dan McLean, marketing manager, communications, Transitions Optical. "Through the activities we'll have at the event and with our partners Essilor and First Eye Care we will continue to remind people about how important it is to take care of their eyes and visit their eye doctor regularly."

The Sightseeing City Tour was in Miami last month, and will be heading to Seattle, Chicago and New Orleans throughout the summer and fall.
