Tornier Announces the Acquisition of DVO Extremity Solutions
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tornier announced today that it has agreed to acquire DVO Extremity Solutions (“DVO”), a privately held company based in Warsaw, Indiana. Tornier, a global orthopedic company and a leader in the markets for shoulder joint replacement and extremity surgical products, also confirmed the closing of the previously announced acquisition of Nexa Orthopedics that was pending regulatory clearances.
DVO was founded in 2004 with the mission to focus on the product and technology needs of its orthopedic surgeon customers and their patients. In collaboration with leading surgeons and researchers, DVO is developing a portfolio of innovative products for upper extremity applications. During 2005 and 2006 DVO launched a series of distal radius fracture repair systems, and already has established itself as a leader and innovator in this large and fast growing segment of the extremity orthopedics market.
