Thomson Reuters Welcomes Inova Software to Its Partner Ecosystem for Life Sciences

PHILADELPHIA, PA, July 10, 2012 – The Intellectual Property and Science division of Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, announced that Inova Software joined its Partner Ecosystem for Life Sciences, an exclusive group of organizations focused on meeting the business needs of joint customers by working together to provide tightly integrated solutions.

Inova’s life sciences customers rely on its innovation management software to help identify and evaluate partnership and acquisition opportunities. Using Thomson Reuters’ Cortellis for Informatics application programming interfaces (APIs), Inova will make information about drugs, companies, patents and comparable partnering deals available directly in its platform to customers who have licensed the Inova Partner or Explore software and Thomson Reuters Cortellis. “One of the reasons we launched the Partner Ecosystem for Life Sciences was to address customer interest in using our industry leading life sciences intelligence directly in the workflow solutions they have deployed that support critical decisions,” said Joseph Donahue, senior vice president at Thomson Reuters. “Inova’s innovation management software is the leading choice of our biopharma customers’ partnership business units, which rely on Inova to improve their partner identification and evaluation processes.”

Inova’s software is used by more than 30 percent of the Big 50 pharmaceutical companies’ business development and licensing units. Those same companies use Thomson Reuters intelligence, but until now have had to rely on largely manual processes to integrate the content between the two systems.

“Our customers rely on Thomson Reuters for information about new drugs in development, their patent protection and development status, the profiles of the companies developing them, and comparable partnering deals,” said Hansruedi Kottman, Inova Software’s chairman and president. “Using the Thomson Reuters Cortellis APIs to embed this information directly into their workflow will make them more efficient, and will help ensure they don’t miss critical partnership opportunities.”

The Cortellis for Informatics APIs enhance pharma R&D and partnering processes by delivering real-time access to powerful information and tools for biopharmaceutical competitive intelligence, drug pipeline, and drug research and development. The Thomson Reuters Partner Ecosystem for Life Sciences is an exclusive group focused on meeting the business needs of customers, where each partner brings its own unique expertise to the Life Sciences industry.
