Inverness Medical Innovations offered $90 per share, trumping an $85 per share bid from Beckman Coulter; Schering-Plough announced approval in China of Pegintron for hepatitis B; Crucell received a 1.7 million euro grant from a European commission to develop an avian flu vaccine; and Trimeris will further cut its workforce.
