The American Urological Association's Quality Registry Certified By CMS As A Qualified Clinical Data Registry
LINTHICUM, Md., April 21, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Urological Association (AUA) today announced its AUA Quality (AQUA) Registry, a national urologic disease registry designed to measure and report healthcare quality and patient outcomes, has been approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR).
A QCDR is a CMS-approved entity that collects and reports medical and/or clinical data for the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), a CMS quality reporting program that utilizes incentive payments and payment adjustments to encourage eligible professionals and group practices to report on quality measures to Medicare.

This prestigious designation enables those urologists and participating practices who utilize the Registry, a seamless way to report both quality- and non-PQRS measures to CMS and other private insurers, with minimal burden to the practice staff compiling the data -- a major benefit of belonging to a QCDR.
With more than 350 participating urologic practices, health systems and academic centers from 48 U.S. States and territories, the Registry, which was created by urologists, for urologists, provides the urologic community with a definitive resource for informing and advancing urology within the United States.
