Lyon, March 25th 2011 – The 7th edition of BioVision will start on Sunday 27th of March at the Palais des Congrès convention center in Lyon and will last until Tuesday 29th of March.
3 days dedicated to health, nutrition and environment and more precisely…
Over 160 internationally renowned speakers and 2 000 attendees, scientists, businesspeople and
representatives of civil society and non-governmental organizations will gather in Lyon during 3 days
to debate major scientific, economic, and societal issues in life sciences.
Several global leaders will be speaking during the first conference Opening plenary session on
Sunday, at 2pm (“Health, a right for all human beings, at any price?”) including Zhu Chen, China
Health Minister , Chris Viehbacher (Chief Executive Officer, Sanofi-aventis), Michel Kazatchkine
(Executive Director, the Global fund to fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria), Michael Marmot
(Professor and Director University College London International Institute for Society and Health),
Claudie Haigneré (President, Universcience) and Helga Nowotny (President, European Research
Council). Nora Berra, the Secretary of State for Health in France, will conclude this first day. Valérie
Pécresse, the French Minister for Higher Education & Research will be speaking on Tuesday 29th
during the closing plenary session.José Angel Cordova Villalobos, the Mexican Health Minister, will
also be one of the keynote speakers of BioVision2011.
Many conferences and debates between the various present actors to explain the latest advances in
life sciences and to discuss about their societal implications and their ethical dimension.
A meeting place between various communities and generations: BioVision gathers international
decision-makers of diverse horizons to express and confront their points of view on essential
challenges to come in life sciences. A programme is dedicated to the new generation: BioVision.Nxt.
Press conferences organized by BioVision prestigious partners, including: ENS Lyon, Grand Lyon and
Lyon Biopôle, DSM, Vivagora, the International Genetic Alliance of Parent and Patient Organizations,
the Institut Pasteur Shangai and France Biotech.

BioVision launches BioVision TV. All BioVision conferences
(except workshops of the track "Business in life sciences"), will
be broadcasted in real time on www.biovision.org.
3 channels are scheduled on BioVision TV: the Lumière Channel,
which will focus on health issues, the Pasteur Channel, which will target nutrition issues and the
Pasteur 2 Channel, focused on environment. Internet users can interview speakers via SMS.
