Temple Health & Bioscience District Relocates, Offers Office And Lab Space To Biotech Companies

TEMPLE, Texas, March 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Temple Health & Bioscience District (THBD) today announced it will relocate in April to a 5,000-square-foot building at 1802 South First St. in the Temple Medical and Education District (TMED), a geographic area designated by the City of Temple to receive funding for redevelopment. Located near Baylor Scott & White and the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, the new facility will enable THBD to offer office and laboratory space to early stage biotechnology and life science companies.

Temple is home to five centers for medical services, education, clinical research and agri-life research, including: Baylor Scott & White Health, the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, Temple College, Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, and the USDA Agricultural Research Service Grassland Soil and Water Research Laboratory.

"We can now market our availability of office and lab space to attract more biotech and life sciences businesses to Temple."

Health and science have been a focus in Temple for more than 100 years with a large pool of highly respected doctors and researchers conducting diverse research for better medical diagnostics and treatments.

The new THBD facility will feature a lobby with a shared receptionist, four office/lab suites, three additional offices, a 15-person conference room, a 6-person meeting room, a break room and 530 square feet of common lab space equipped with an Instron ElectroPuls E10000 material testing system, 3D printer, bio-hood, negative-80-degree freezer, incubator, centrifuge and other laboratory equipment.
