Teledyne RD Instruments Supplies Russian Government With Equipment For Large-Scale Hydrologic Project

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Teledyne RD Instruments, a global leader in acoustic Doppler current profiling and navigation innovations, has announced that it has supplied the Russian government with more than 60 acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCPs) and other equipment for a large-scale hydrologic project in partnership with the World Bank.

Called the Second National Hydromet Modernization Project for the Russian Federation, the objective of the project is to modernize the equipment and technologies utilized to enhance the national capacity to deliver reliable and timely weather, hydrological, and climate information to the Russian public and economic sector. It also aims to enhance Russia's capacity to integrate into the global system of meteorological services.

To assist researchers on this project, Teledyne RD Instruments supplied the Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, known as Roshydromet, with over 60 of its ADCPs to provide accurate flow and discharge data for river monitoring. In addition, also supplied were numerous Teledyne Oceanscience remotely operated surface vehicles, known as Z-Boats, for shallow water hydrographic surveys, and High Speed Riverboats as data collection platforms.
