Teen Vaping Triples: E-Cigarettes, Hookahs Threaten Drop In Teen Tobacco Use

Three times as many middle school and high school students used e-cigarettes in 2014 than in 2013, according to an annual survey on youth tobacco use conducted by the CDC and FDA and published yesterday. That’s right — the number of high school students who said they had vaped at least once in the past 30 days tripled in one year, from 4.3 percent to 13.4 percent for high school students and from 1.1 percent to 3.9 percent for middle school students.
