Sysmex America, Inc. Lands Exclusive CellaVision AB Contract Extension Until 2009

MUNDELEIN, Ill., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Sysmex America, Inc., a leading medical diagnostic instrument manufacturer and information systems developer, has reached an agreement on a three-year contract extension with CellaVision AB for the exclusive distribution of the CellaVision(TM) DM96 and DM8 Digital Cell Morphology Systems to laboratories in the United States. Sysmex America will be responsible for the systems' sales, marketing and service support.

"The CellaVision DM-Series systems, which locate, identify, and pre- classify blood cells by means of automatic microscopy and advanced image processing, greatly enhance Sysmex America's hematology product offering," said John Kershaw, President, Sysmex America. "It allows us to meet the growing demand for automated digital cell morphology systems, which improves both the quality of results and the productivity of laboratories performing medium to high volume testing," he added.
