Syphilis Made A Big Comeback In 2013, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Warns
By the year 2000, syphilis was considered all but eradicated in the U.S. But with new data from 2005-1013 released today, the CDC made a shocking announcement: Syphilis is back, with the rate of new cases more than doubling since 2005. “After being on the verge of elimination in 2000 in the United States, syphilis cases have rebounded,” announced Dr. Monica Patton and colleagues in this week’s Morbidity and Mortality Report, released today.
