Switzerland-Based Lonza Group to Build Huge Biotech Facility in Texas, Plans to Create at Least 50 Jobs
Basel, Switzerland-based Lonza Group (VTX: LONN) plans to build a massive biotechnology facility in Pearland that will be home to at least 50 employees and will relocate Lonza's current Houston operations to the southeastern suburb.
Lonza Houston Inc. and the Pearland Economic Development Council have worked on the deal since 2014. Construction on the space is expected to be completed in 2017. It will be located in Pearland’s Lower Kirby District on an 11-acre plot. Tyler, Texas-based Crosspoint Engineering LLC is the civil engineer on the project and Fort Worth-based Rogue Architects is the architect of record, according to a statement.
