StrataDx Adds Drs. Geoffrey Gottlieb and Lisa Cohen to Dermatopathology Team

LEXINGTON, Mass., Aug. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- StrataDx announced today that Drs. Geoffrey Gottlieb and Lisa Cohen have taken leadership roles with the Company's Dermatopathology team. Drs. Gottlieb and Terence Harrist, a well-known New England-based dermatopathologist who founded Strata nearly 30 years ago, serve as Co-Directors of the Dermatopathology Division. Dr. Cohen assumes the role of Executive Vice President of Clinical Affairs. By bringing this team together, physicians will have access to both the Clark and Ackerman styles of diagnosing skin disease within one organization.

Dr. Geoffrey Gottlieb joined StrataDx in 2011 after serving as medical director and fellowship director of the Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology/Ameripath at Quest Diagnostics. Dr. Gottlieb was personally selected by Dr. Bernard Ackerman, the Founder of the Ackerman Academy, to lead the organization following his retirement. He has authored and co-authored multiple books and journal articles, including Histologic Diagnosis Of Inflammatory Skin Diseases: An Algorithmic Method Based On Pattern Analysis and serves as a mentor to dermatopathologists throughout the U.S.

Dr. Lisa Cohen is board-certified in dermatology and dermatopathology and brings over two decades of diagnostic and clinical excellence to this role. Prior to joining StrataDx, she worked in the Pathology Department at Massachusetts General Hospital and was Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School. She was also the founder of Cohen Dermatopathology, P.C. based in Newton, Massachusetts. Dr. Cohen served on the faculty at several other prestigious universities including Tufts University School of Medicine and Boston University School of Medicine, and has published many articles in leading peer reviewed journals. She has received numerous honors and awards from the World Congress of Dermatology, the Women's Dermatologic Society, and other organizations.
