9/12/2006 9:19:52 AM
DALLAS, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- STILLE AB, the world's leading manufacturer of precision surgical instruments and specialty procedure tables, announced the reorganization of its United States operation, STILLE-Sonesta, in keeping with its strategy of increasing its presence in North America.
Michael J. Carney has joined the company as president of U.S. operations and will oversee the company's expansion plan. Carney, a senior sales executive, has a broad background in sales and product distribution and will oversee STILLE plans to increase its penetration of the U.S. medical equipment market. He previously designed and implemented a number of consumer and business-to-business programs for Blue Cross Blue Shield and the financial services and medical industries.
Michelle Sammons, previously the manager of the Dallas office, has been appointed to sales assistant. In her role, she will be responsible for customer relations and retention and will be the liaison to the Sweden operation.
The company has also announced the relocation of its offices to 3333 Lee Parkway, Suite 600, Dallas, TX 75219. The new facility will serve as the U.S. sales and service center for STILLE and will accommodate its plans for future expansion.
According to Anders Weilandt, STILLE president and CEO, the United States is a key market for the company. "We wish to focus on staffing our sales operation with individuals who can lead us into new markets and distribution channels," Weilandt said. "This approach is consistent with our growth strategy within North America and has the full support of the parent organization and our investors."
STILLE has manufactured high-quality surgical instruments since 1841 and is also a market leader in the design of specialty tables for examination, imaging and procedures within the urology, gynecology and ultrasound categories. The company is widely recognized for the quality and precision of its products and is headquartered in Solna, Sweden.
