NEWARK, Calif., Aug. 5, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- StemCells, Inc. (Nasdaq:STEM), a leading stem cell company developing and commercializing novel cell-based therapeutics and tools for use in stem cell-based research and drug discovery, announced today that it will release financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2013 after the market close on Wednesday, August 7. In connection with this announcement, StemCells will host a conference call and webcast to discuss its results and an update on its business at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time (4:30 p.m. Eastern Time) the same day. Eliseo Salinas, MD, Executive Vice President and Head of Research & Development at StemCells, will be on the call to discuss the Company's recently announced two-year data in patients with Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease (PMD).
