Smithers Avanza Appoints Michael Dorato As Executive Vice President

Smithers Avanza announced that Dr. Michael Dorato has been appointed as Executive Vice President, Smithers Avanza Development Services, effective April 7, 2014. Dorato will report to Smithers Group President and CEO, Michael Hochschwender.

As the leader of the Development Services group at the Smithers Avanza facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Dorato has responsibility for the business, operations, scientific services, and quality teams. Dorato has nearly 35 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and CRO industries, and holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Pharmacology from St. John’s University.
