It may be small comfort, but people with psoriasis are considerably less likely than other people to develop sun-related skin damage called actinic keratoses, results of a study new indicate. "Although these findings need to be confirmed in other studies, they suggest that psoriasis protects against photodamage," Dr. Ora Paltiel from Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem told Reuters Health.
