FREEHOLD, N.J., April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aginova Inc., a sensor technology company, is launching a Kickstarter project. The iCelsius Wireless will extend your smart phones/tablets with WiFi Wireless Sensors for home use in a myriad of applications such as cooking, health, environment, and more.

Wireless based on Bluetooth and WiFi are all around. WiFi wireless is everywhere but not as common as Bluetooth devices because it is not as easy to set up. But WiFi has the huge advantage of being very stable (no pairing issues) and able to monitor remotely (e.g. over the Internet). The common challenges with WiFi devices are related to power management (when battery powered) and usability (when you have no display on a device, "usability" can be challenging). Aginova is launching a product that can make home monitoring easy and fun to use.

The product is ready for launch and the Kickstarter project is to manufacture and release. The sensors being released include: BBQ probes for grilling and cooking; IP probe for food inspection; RH probe and indoor air quality monitor for checking comfort level in homes; the body temperature probe for health; and more probes will be released over time. The iCelsius wireless works with iOS and Android systems. They will work with the Apple products iPhone, iPad or iPod touch as well the many Android smart phones and tablets. The app downloaded from the App store will read the sensor data, create graphs, set up alerts, store data, email graphs and export data to Excel.

The BBQ probe can help you with perfectly cooked steaks every time by letting you know the status of the food. The probe measures temperature between -22 degrees F to 482 degrees F (-30 degrees C to 250 degrees C). The temperature probes are great for K-12 education, especially for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) subjects, they help educators use their tablets for demonstrating lessons and conducting experiments. With the low cost, educators can provide a sensor to every student in the class so they have a much better learning experience.
