Sectra Receives Swecare Export Award 2014

LINKÖPING, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Swedish IT and medical technology company Sectra (STO:SECTB) (http://www.sectra.com) (STO: SECT B) has received the Swecare Export Award 2014. The award is intended to encourage and highlight successful Swedish companies and create good examples of successful export ventures. The aim is to reward creativity and innovation and to promote the development of new success models for internationalization in all areas of Swedish health and medical care. The winning entry was evaluated on the basis of such factors as clinical value and innovation. The award was presented by the Swedish Minister for Health Care, Public Health and Sport, Gabriel Wikström, in conjunction with Swecare’s annual meeting.

This strategy prioritizes market segments in which the company has comparative advantages, with the aim of being one of the three largest players in each market that the company enters. Although sales have been impacted by new delivery models for software and a deliberate choice of refraining from the sale of some hardware, exports have remained at a constant level, while profit has increased by 25 percent in the past year. The company’s principal products are developed in Sweden and are now sold to about 50 countries.
