Search Continues for New Medtronic, Inc. CEO

Star Tribune -- In a note to employees today, Medtronic Inc. CEO William Hawkins said the search for his replacement will likely extend into its current fiscal year, which began May 1.

In December, the then-56-year-old Hawkins announced plans to retire at the end of the medical technology company's fiscal year, April 31, and the company expected a replacement to be named by then.

Hawkins said the company's board is making "excellent progress," but the search "takes time." He advised Medtronic's employees to "stay focused" on the business and the med-tech company's mission.
