Rockville, MD (August 20, 2012) – The Tech Council of Maryland (TCM) has moved its headquarters to a new location within Rockville, the result of a transaction recently put together by two executives at Rockville-based Scheer Partners.
The leading provider of fully integrated commercial real estate services for the technology and health science industries in the Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas announces today that it has negotiated on behalf of TCM in a 3,962-square-foot lease on the top floor of 9210 Corporate Blvd.
Scheer Partners Senior Vice President Henry Bernstein and Vice President Matt Brady represented TCM in its search for a more efficient and centrally located office that suits the diverse needs of a growing regional membership organization.
“The Tech Council of Maryland’s new home contains more efficient space than its previous location,” Brady says. “Our client wanted to remain in a central position to its membership, and its new space overlooks the Shady Grove Life Sciences Center, where numerous biotechnology and information-technology companies reside.”
Glendale, Calif.-based PS Business Parks, a publicly traded real estate investment trust, owns 9210 Corporate Blvd., which is part of a three-building, 350,000-square-foot complex known as the Shady Grove Executive Center.
The complex is just off the Interstate 270/Shady Grove Road interchange, making it one of the best destinations along the I-270 technology corridor.
TCM’s new CEO, Art Jacoby, led the organization’s final selection and commented, “TCM needed an efficient, flexible and well-balanced space to serve its members and sister organizations, MdBio and Maryland Healthcare Ventures, and was able to secure all of those attributes at this location. We are delighted to set up shop here and commend how the PS staff worked to make our transition to the park seamless.”
The largest technology-focused trade association in Maryland, TCM has more than 400 members and represents 250,000 people around the region. TCM has two major divisions, MdTech, which serves the advanced-technology community, and MdBio, which caters to the area’s biotech sector.
