SAIC-Frederick, Inc. (SAI) Announces Key Organizational and Leadership Changes

MCLEAN, Va., July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SAIC, Inc. (NYSE: SAI), a scientific, engineering, and technology applications company, today announced a strategic realignment of its operating groups and changes to its corporate leadership structure and personnel. These changes, effective Aug. 2, will enable the company to better execute its long-term strategy, focus resources to high growth areas in the marketplace, and meet the evolving needs of customers.

The company will move from four operating groups to three. The three groups are:

  • Defense Solutions Group, led by Group President Deb Alderson
  • Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group, led by Group President Stu Shea
  • Infrastructure, Energy, Health and Product Solutions Group, led by Group President Joe Craver

The Information Technology and Network Solutions Group, currently led by Group President Charles Koontz, will become part of the Infrastructure, Energy, Health and Product Solutions Group. Koontz will become executive vice president for strategic projects, reporting directly to SAIC CEO Walt Havenstein.

Larry Cox, senior vice president and general manager of the Intelligence and Information Solutions Business Unit, will lead the company's cybersecurity program and also report directly to Havenstein.

The company is also making strategy-based changes to its corporate leadership structure and personnel:

  • Jim Cuff, senior vice president for business development, has been promoted to executive vice president and will continue to lead corporate business development, and also direct strategy, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Tony Moraco, currently senior vice president and general manager of the Space and Geospatial Intelligence Business Unit (SGIBU), has been promoted to executive vice president for operations and performance excellence, responsible for enterprise-wide business support services and operational efficiency and effectiveness initiatives.
  • Deborah Lee James, currently senior vice president and general manager of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Information Technology Business Unit (C4IT BU), has been promoted to executive vice president for communications and government affairs and will also lead corporate responsibility.
  • Vince Maffeo, executive vice president and general counsel, will assume responsibility for contracts, pricing and procurement, and enterprise risk management.
