Robert Bosch Reacquires the Rights to Its Patents in the Diabetes Field From Abbott Diabetes Care

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Robert Bosch Healthcare Systems, Inc. (Bosch Healthcare) announced today an agreement with Abbott's diabetes care business for a non-exclusive license under select Bosch Healthcare patents, for use in the diabetes field, following the termination of a previously established exclusive license agreement. As a result of these actions, Bosch Healthcare has reacquired sublicense rights under more than 150 issued patents and more than 40 patent applications for use in the diabetes field. These patents and patent applications are now available for licensing to healthcare companies focused on developing products and services for the management and/or monitoring of individuals with chronic medical conditions, including diabetes. The Bosch Healthcare patents include those which are directed at the collection of insulin dosage information, blood glucose readings and other laboratory data associated with diabetes management, monitoring and treatment.
