Rightey To Release Baseline Concussion Norms, Elite Performance Norms To Improve Athletes’ Rehabilitation Results

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RightEye LLC, a health technology company that uses eye tracking to revolutionize vision performance and patient care, announced today at the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Convention that it is releasing a set of baseline concussion norms as well as norms for visual characteristics of elite athletes, enabling teams and coaches to better understand the vision strengths and weaknesses that affect player success, while also supporting rehabilitation efforts in the event of injury. RightEye, which launched its cloud-based platform in January, currently serves five hospital systems, 15 professional sports teams, 40 independent health care providers and more than 1,000 professional athletes. In order to generate the concussion baseline norms, RightEye collected data from over 100 normal adults aged 18-45. The company will finalize norms for 12-18-year-olds in July. For elite performance norms, RightEye aggregated data from many elite athletes who have used its eye tracking-based performance vision testing system, generating an ideal visual baseline for the best possible athletic performance. The data from the model will provide professional, college and high school sports teams the opportunity to compare their own visual performance with the baseline and find opportunities for improvement in their athletes’ vision. The baseline test can also prove beneficial to athletes’ health, as coaches and medical staff will be able to use the data to help rehabilitate athletes and return them to their optimal performance level in the event of an injury.

RightEye expects its baseline concussion and elite performance norm data will be available to its clients beginning in July.
