Chapel Hill, NC (Rho) October 24, 2009– Today marks the 25th Anniversary for Rho, a Chapel Hill based
contract research organization. Established in 1984, Rho began as a small, family run business in the
basement of the home of Ron and Mary Helms. Since then, it has rapidly developed into a large and
reputable, family owned company that conducts business with some of the most dynamic
pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies in the U.S.
During the past 25 years, Rho has acquired a strong commercial and federal customer base because of
its exceptional customer service and scientific expertise. Consulting to the FDA, rescuing poorly
executed pivotal trials, authoring and coauthoring 252 articles, 89 presentations, and 82 abstracts are
among many of Rho’s recent accomplishments. As a seven-time consecutive winner of Carolina Parent’s
Top 40 NC Family Friendly Companies, Rho demonstrates its commitment not only to their customers,
but to its valued employees as well. Rho has been a strong advocate for the March of Dimes and has
been recognized for eight years in the Circle of Champions and Special Participant Awards. In addition
to public recognition, many of Rho’s employees have been honored with individual awards for their
intelligence, hard work, and leadership.
Rho embraces core values that continue to be the driving force behind its success and the foundation
for its strength. Rho’s ability to sustain this success for 25 years is quite an accomplishment. Providing
high quality work and exceptional customer service are values that will propel Rho in its endeavors to
give flight to research for many years to come.
Rho is dedicated to enhancing the quality and speed of its customers’ clinical trials through the highest
levels of performance, accuracy, and scientific integrity. Rho contributes to the success of
pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology studies in a range of therapeutic areas.
