Reverse Medical Corporation Announces Sale of its Neurovascular Guide Catheter Business to Covidien

IRVINE, Calif., Jan 25, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Reverse Medical Corporation today announced that it has sold its line of neurovascular guide catheters to Covidien, a leading global provider of healthcare products. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"Despite being a young company, Reverse Medical's guide catheter business already includes a strong customer base, manufacturing platform, and suite of products and technologies. The lead product, ReFlex(TM), has been a great commercial success for us," said Jeffrey Valko, President and CEO of Reverse Medical.

Reverse Medical will retain possession of its thrombectomy technologies and products and will continue its innovative development of new technologies for the treatment of neurovascular disorders, including both ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke.
